MOCHILA Kick-off Meeting

From January 16 to 17, 2025, the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) in Spain hosted the kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ MOCHILA project, with the participation of universities from Chile, Guatemala, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Italy, and Spain. During this first meeting, the working methodology was established, project partners were introduced, and key aspects such as administrative management, strategic objectives, and activity planning were defined.

MOCHILA is a project funded by the European Commission aimed at developing a reference framework for the design and issuance of microcredentials in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). The initiative seeks to strengthen universities’ capacities to implement innovative certification systems that meet the needs of flexible and lifelong learning.

The partner universities participating in the project include Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain), Universidad de Chile (Chile), Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II (Italy), Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico), Universidad Galileo (Guatemala), Universidad San Carlos de Guatemala (Guatemala), Universidad del Cauca (Colombia), Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (Dominican Republic), and Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (Mexico).
